D.C. United
Leidos partnership with the Black-and-Red takes the field again

United once more
Major League Soccer® club D.C. United and Leidos recently extended their Presenting Partner agreement through 2021. The agreement will continue to foster the seven year relationship Leidos and D.C. United have built with the community through sustained campaigns like Armed Forces Week, honoring veterans and active duty service members, and partnerships like the connection with Anacostia Riverkeeper in 2018, raising awareness on keeping the Anacostia River clean.
, D.C. United Co-Chairman and CEOWe are excited to continue our partnership with Leidos for the years ahead. We formed our partnership seven seasons ago, and it has been a terrific relationship. We’re looking forward to our next chapter together.
Headquartered in Reston, Va., Leidos is a global science and technology leader providing solutions and services in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets. Its 43,000 employees across 30 countries support vital missions for both commercial and government customers. With more than 13,000 employees in the National Capital Region, Leidos is one of the area's largest employers.
Home sweet home
As the jersey sponsor since 2014, Leidos has seen D.C. United through the construction of their new home, Audi Field, as the club transitioned away from RFK Stadium. Approaching its third season, Audi Field’s prime location along the Southwest D.C. waterfront holds 20,000 fans. Since its inception, it has housed more than just the Black-and-Red, also hosting the National Women’s Soccer League team Washington Spirit, the United States men’s national soccer team, and Loudoun United F.C., D.C. United’s USL reserve team. Beginning in 2020, the D.C. Defenders of the XFL will play all their home games at Audi Field.
But wait, there's more
With the completion of Audi Field, D.C. United is setting their sights on their latest project: a new training facility opening in Leesburg, Va. in fall 2020. The new facility, to be shared with Washington Spirit, will be in close proximity to the freshly constructed Segra Field, home to Loudoun United F.C.
“Leidos is pleased to extend our relationship with D.C. United as enthusiasm for soccer in the U.S. continues to grow," said Leidos Senior Vice President Melissa Dueñas. “We look forward to strengthening our partnership with the team, and leveraging our sponsorship for branding, recruiting, and engagement activities at Audi Field and other venues.”
2021 vision
As D.C. United looks forward to the budding season in their new home, Leidos will be cheering on the Black-and-Red from inside Audi Field with new marketing materials and with their logo on the team’s jerseys as the two organizations are united, once more.
