Day 3: Thursday, Sept. 12 - Maritime Security
Speaker: Tim Barton, Defense CTO
Location: Theatre - South (Naval)
Overview: Leidos has worked with the U.S. DARPA and the U.S. ONR on DARPA’s ACTUV program to design and build Sea Hunter, the technology demonstration vehicle that ONR is further developing through the Medium Displacement Unmanned Surface Vessel (MDUSV) program. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the program and vessel, maritime autonomy architecture, behaviours, and missions, and recent efforts in autonomous survey and autonomous logistics.
Day 4: Friday, Sept. 13 - Industry Engagement & Acquisition
Speaker: Damian Alexander CBE, VP Logistics & Programme Director, Leidos (BIO)
Location: Theatre - Global (Joint)
Overview: Ever since Alexander the Great’s vastly outnumbered Macedonian army conquered Persia against great odds in the 4th century BC — securing his legacy as one of the greatest military minds of all time — logistics have been fundamental to the success of military efforts through every conflict. For commanders of the UK Armed Forces, agile supply chain management is critical to every operation, from hurricane relief and humanitarian aid to new deployments and training programmes at military bases around the globe. The supply chain demands of the military today are not unlike the demands on commercial enterprise. And, with help from Team Leidos, a global partnership of experts in complex transformation, logistics and supply chain management, the UK Armed Forces will be able to leverage best-in-class technology solutions that rival those deployed by private sector leaders like Amazon, FedEx and WalMart. Hear from Damian Alexander CBE on how the MOD is getting troops what they need, when they need it and at lower cost.
