A new episode of “C-Suite Conversations with Scott Miller” features Leidos Chairman and CEO Roger Krone.
The conversation centers on Krone’s leadership journey, building a culture of success, lessons learned from the pandemic and more.
“I’ve tried to align my career aspirations to the things I’m passionate about, and I’ve done my best to empower my employees to do the same,” said Krone, who took over at Leidos in 2014. “At this company, those passions always involve important work driven by technology.”
Under Krone’s leadership, Leidos has doubled its revenues to more than $13 billion and expanded to more than 44,000 employees worldwide.
The company has also earned recognition as one the most admired, most ethical and best employers in the world.
“I don’t want people to think of me when they think of Leidos,” Krone said. “It’s not about the CEO. The best thing I can do is empower our people to do their job better every day. When I retire, I’ll turn this job over to the next person. In the meantime, I’d just as soon keep my head down, do my job, grow the company and create new opportunities for our employees and customers.”
Last year, he earned the COVID-19 Response Leader Award from Washington Business Journal.
“During the pandemic, we proved to ourselves we could manage in a hybrid environment,” he said. “It taught us to let go of old, antiquated ideas about how you have to manage.”
C-Suite Conversations with Scott Miller is the newest podcast from leadership company FranklinCovey, which also produces the world’s largest weekly leadership podcast, On Leadership with Scott Miller.
