Leidos expands energy advisory in UK & Europe
New Glasgow team delivers local expertise backed by US technical strength
Three Points to Remember
- Leidos’ premium independent technical advisory services for energy infrastructure are now available across the UK and Europe.
- Our UK-based team brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges associated with developing, financing and operating energy projects in the region.
- The UK team is supported by the technical expertise of Leidos’ Energy & Infrastructure Consulting group in the United States.
A recognised leader in independent engineering, Leidos has a strong track record as a technical advisor to developers, lenders and investors seeking to advance and finance energy projects worldwide. We recognise that the distinct regulatory landscape and grid requirements of the United Kingdom—and Europe more broadly—are best addressed by specialist consultants with local insight. To support our UK and European clients in achieving successful project development and financing outcomes, Leidos has established an Energy & Infrastructure Consulting office in Glasgow.
Staffed by experienced professionals, our UK team works closely with our wider technical advisory group in North America to deliver risk-focused, transaction-led advice, enabling clients to secure funding for their projects. The team offers a thorough understanding of planning, consenting, grid connection and compliance, as well as supply chain considerations specific to project finance in the UK and Europe. In addition to their technical expertise, they maintain strong relationships with government and industry, alongside a clear appreciation of the many stakeholders involved in bringing energy projects into operation.
I am delighted to lead the expansion of our Energy & Infrastructure Consulting services into the UK. We have a unique opportunity to build on the excellent work of our US colleagues and bring this highly regarded standard of service to clients across the finance and energy sectors in the UK market.
Nancy McLean
Director of Energy & Infrastructure Consulting UK
Much of Leidos’ technical due diligence expertise is transferable across markets. Our UK and North American Energy & Infrastructure Consulting teams are well positioned to support a broad range of energy technologies that underpin the UK’s transition to a low-carbon grid. Our extensive experience in conventional renewables, energy storage, carbon capture, gas turbine generation, nuclear and small modular reactors, data centres, and advanced energy conversion technologies such as green hydrogen enables us to evaluate complex hybrid projects from early-stage development through to operations and maintenance.
Christian Carpenter, vice president and associate division manager for Energy & Infrastructure Consulting, has led the establishment of the UK team. “We conducted an in-depth assessment of the UK market, including engagement with investors, lenders and developers, and identified a clear need for strong, independent technical advisors in capital-intensive energy infrastructure. Our UK-based team is well placed to provide the specialised insight our UK and European clients need to navigate the development and financing process.”
