FAQs
-
Yes. Leidos has a proven methodology that we can scale in our reviews of technologies, both conventional and emerging. Our reviews consider everything from development history to design features to manufacturing quality. This breadth of review supports targeted evaluations of technologies to assess their readiness for commercialization as well as technologies to be deployed in projects. That we are technology agnostic means we can evaluate any technology on its own terms.
-
As an independent evaluator, Leidos’ role is to uncover risks that are not readily identified. We work with sponsors to assess how they are addressing risks and offer alternative approaches as appropriate. We also work with lenders and investors to ensure they understand not just the risk (both its likelihood and severity), but how it is being or can be addressed. Our goal is to ensure that all parties come to a common understanding of a development project’s or operating asset’s risks and the strategies available to address them.

While an independent engineer is typically engaged when a project approaches financing, sale or acquisition, Leidos offers value throughout a project’s lifecycle. When engaged early, we can often see “around the corners” to make sure a project offers what lenders and investors expect –not just from a technical or execution perspective, but also in terms of the electric power markets and access to the transmission grid. Leidos also steps in during EPC execution to help keep projects on track and during operations to advise owners on operations and maintenance practices, processes, and budgets.
