Meet a Leidos Summer Intern: Camryn Weldon

Meet Business Development Intern, Camryn Weldon, who has been bringing fresh perspectives to Leidos growth strategies this summer. As we continue to build momentums, having additional hands and bright minds on board allows the company to move faster while nurturing future leaders in the industry.

Check out what Camryn has to say about her summer internship experience so far.

Where do you go to school, what are you majoring in, and when do you graduate?

I’m currently a student at George Mason University, majoring in Finance with a minor in Operations and Supply Chain Management. I will graduate in May 2027.

Is your internship in-person, hybrid, or remote?

I’m working in-person at Global Headquarters in Reston, Virginia, supporting the Federal Civilian IT portfolio.

Tell us about your internship experience so far.

It’s been a fantastic experience so far! I’m part of a group of eight business development interns, and they’ve been an incredible team to collaborate with. The entire Digital Modernization group has been incredibly welcoming, and I’ve already learned so much. My time at Leidos has far exceeded my expectations and I’m genuinely grateful for the experience.

What made you decide to apply for a Leidos internship?

When I applied for the internship, I didn’t know much about government contracting. What first caught my attention was the Leidos logo as I recognized it from various Washington, D.C. sports sponsorships. That recognition led me to do more research, and the more I learned about the company, the more I realized this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

How will a Leidos internship help you meet your academic and career goals?

This internship is already proving to be a valuable stepping stone for both my academic and professional goals. The networking opportunities and exposure to diverse career paths at Leidos are what I’ve found most rewarding. I’ve had the chance to connect with professionals across different sectors, and those conversations are helping me shape a clearer vision for my future after graduation.

Besides the internship, what else are you up to this summer?

Outside of work, I enjoy playing volleyball, working out, and relaxing by the pool.

What is your favorite food?

A good steak.

At Leidos, whether you join for a summer internship or sign on as a co-op during the academic year, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with a team on critical projects, either at a Leidos facility or on a customer site. View our current internship opportunities and apply today to join the Leidos family!
