FIPS 140-2

The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) issued the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 140-2 as a government standard used to assess and accredit cryptographic modules, software or hardware, prior to use on a government network. The standard specifies requirements that must be satisfied covering areas related to design and implementation.

As such, for any vendor to sell their product to a government entity the product must first go through testing and evaluations to receive accreditation against these standards. We operate one of the largest laboratories in the United States that perform these evaluations across several government standards. Testing for FIPS 140-2 compliance was one of our first standards and we have become very familiar with the process and provide the following services:

  • Vendor organizational readiness and product initial assessment
  • Product testing
  • Cryptographic algorithm testing
  • General evidence consulting
  • Training
  • Product maintenance revalidiation
